Ingredients
- 2 garlic (cloves minced)
- 1 1/2 lentils (red)
- 1,800 ml water
- 240 gr onion (chopped)
- 5 ml wine vinegar (red)
- 3 gr turmeric (ground)
- 3 gr parsley (chopped fresh)
- 2 gr cumin (ground)
- 1 gr ginger (ground)
- 1 gr black pepper (freshly ground)
- 1 gr cayenne pepper
Saute the onion and garlic in half cup of the water in a large pot until the onion is soft, about 5 minutes. Add the seasonings and cook for 1 minute. Add the lentils and the remaining water. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Stir in the vinegar. Garnish with parsley before serving.
