Ingredients
- 4 potatoes quartered
- 3 stalks celery
- 1 onion soup mix (envelope)
- 1,400 gr chuck roast cubed
- 38 gr tapioca
- 1 gr basil
- 8 slices carrots thickly (sliced)
- 3 slices onions (sliced)
- 1 package cream of mushroom soup
- 1 package water
- 1 package tomatoes (whole)
Place all ingredients in a heavy roaster with a tight fitting lid and bake at 140ºC or 6 hours. DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR DURING COOKING TIME! Notes: -----I use about 5 onions and 2 litre sized jars of canned tomatoes. I have also made this stew using chicken (deboned thighs) and it was great.
It is good without meat as well.
