Ingredients
- 2 garlic (cloves)
- 1 bay leaf
- 12 cups water (fresh)
- 3 cups water in a bowl
- 1 1/8 cups dry beans (red)
- 2 cups rice (hot cooked)
- 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp fennel seed
- 1/2 tsp pepper (ground red)
Uncover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes more or till a thick gravy forms. Discard bay leaf. Serve over rice.
