- 1 sweet green pepper
- 1 lb beef chuck (ground)
- 1 lb pork shoulder (ground)
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 1 c slivered almonds (toasted)
- 3/4 c olives w (chopped)
- 1/2 c seedless raisins
- 1/4 c well capers (drained)
- 2 tb ruby port
- 2 tb olive oil
- 1/2 ts crumbled leaf thyme
- 1/2 ts cumin (ground)
- 1/4 ts black pepper (freshly ground)
- 1/2 ts crumbled leaf marjoram
- 1 pn cinnamon (ground)
mincemeat over rice, or slices of sourdough or French bread. Or, spoon the meat into pita pockets or taco shells. Makes 6 to 8 servings
