Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic (crushed)
- 1,600 gr bean pot
- 500 gr navy beans (dried)
- 350 ml tomato juice
- 120 gr dark rum
- 120 gr onion (finely chopped)
- 60 ml molasses
- 75 ml chili sauce
- 28 gr dark brown sugar
- 16 ml dry mustard english
- 10 ml worcestershire sauce
- 6 gr butter (unsalted)
- 4 gr salt
- 2 gr curry powder
- 3 slices bacon cookedamp
- 3 slices bacon (uncooked)
beans. Place in large mixing bowl. Add onion, crumbled bacon, brown sugar, Worcestershire, molasses, chili sauce, dry mustard, curry powder, salt and rum. Mix well. Stir in quarter cup of the tomato juice. Transfer to prepared bean pot. Place uncooked bacon strips on top. Bake, covered in a 140ÂșC oven for 7 hours or until beans are tender, gently stirring in additional tomato juice as liquid is absorbed by beans. Recipe By : The Little Mountain Bean Bible Cookbook
